Peoria AZ

Greetings,
Elder T is serving in the Peoria AZ North Stake in the Lake Pleasant Ward. We looked on a map and it looks like it is on the North West side of Phoenix.

It was requested that all mail go through the Mission Home and they will forward on all mail. FedEx/UPS will not be forwarded and will only be picked up once a week... so send through USPS.

His address is:
Elder Cody Troxler
18001 N. 79th Ave
Ste C50
Glendale AZ 85308-8394

We also found out:

Lori -

I was talking to my mother today and she mentioned that she had met a new
missionary this morning and that he was from Colorado Springs. As it turns out,
Cody is serving in my parents' ward in Peoria and is actually living just a couple
of houses away from them. My dad is actually the stake president there, so he will
probably be getting to know my family pretty well. I just thought that this was a
fun coincidence and I thought you would like to know. My parents' names are Wes
and Lori Wagner and my mom mentioned that Cody seemed like a really good kid.
Anyways, I know you guys are now moved to Las Vegas so we will no longer see you
in our ward, but I thought you would like to know that Cody will definitely be
well watched over. I hope everything is going well with all of you! We will
definitely miss seeing your family on Sundays.

PHX here I come.

Elder T was finally able to talk to Lori today or Lori was finally able to talk to Elder T today. You take your pick... They both have been waiting for this call for 3 weeks.

Elder T was leaving Provo UT and the MTC for sunny Phoenix, a.k.a the hottest place on Earth. He will report into his mission president today and find out exactly where in the mission he will be going. They recently divided the PHX Mission in half and Cody will be serving in the southern half. So all the good things he heard about Flagstaff are out the door.

Elder T reported the food in the MTC was horrible, ultimate frisbee is banned for missionaries due to its "violent nature" and he was put on lock down because President Monson was on the MTC campus.

Elder T said his room mate and he received the most letters out of all his district. He loved getting all the letters and we hope that will continue through out his mission. Stay tuned for his new postal address. When we know you will know.

Lori was able to stay on the phone 25 - 30 minutes and they both laughed and cried.

Elder T is excited to get out to the field and share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Thanks for following...

Put Your Shoulder to the Wheel

Well Elder Troxler has been in the MTC for 2.3 weeks now. He has his P-day (prep day) on Thursdays. Since he went to the MTC on a Wednesday he didn't get a P-day his first week so the letters didn't flow until last week. He is doing good but has been challenged. He is however; putting his shoulder to the wheel and pressing along. Cody has been rough on himself as he is not the "Superstar" he is used to being. I guess he is finally getting to know humility.

Elder T (as Lori calls him) days consist of two 4 hour blocks of study inter-mingled with personal studies, prayer, eating and sleeping.

Elder T will be transferring from the MTC to AZ-PHX Mission on Tuesday and has promised to call his mother along the way. She sure misses the sound of his voice.

Stay tuned for Elder T's mission address. We sent one box that will be waiting but he will always enjoy other boxes over the next two years.

Also coming in the next few weeks will be our Las Vegas contact info.

We love you all and thank you for all your prayers for us and Cody.

Entering the MTC

Cody entered the Missionary Training Center in Provo, UT on 23 June, at 130.

Lori, Cody and CJ drove over to UT on the 20th to visit with family. They stayed with Uncle John and Aunt Windy Hasson in Pleasant Grove, UT. Grandma Mullen was also up from Las Vegas.

On the 21st everyone went to Ogden to visit with Grandma Hunt. While they were in the area they swung by Roy, UT to visit with Mike and Vicky Hunt.

Cody has been wearing his suit and getting acclimated to the missionary lifestyle. He had given up his phone on the 2oth when he was set apart as a missionary. On the way to UT he watched rated G movies to make the time pass by.

On the morning of the 23rd Cody put on his suit and tie and was off for Provo. He went a little early so he could get some pictures by the sign and see his cousin, Benetton Hunt who was reporting for his mission the same day. A lot of good pictures by the MTC sign and by the Provo Temple were taken. Lori was a trooper when the time finally came to say good bye.

We all love Cody and are proud of his desire to serve the Lord for two years. Say a prayer for him and keep this young man in your thoughts.

Elder Troxler

20 June 2010
Cody Troxler spoke in Sacrament Meeting of the Oakwood Ward. His talk was about "Honoring our Heavenly Father." He shared a story about going not just the extra mile but a second mile, developing Christ like attributes which brings us closer Heavenly Father, and talked about the Duty to God program. He closed with discussing how he will apply these to his mission and Cody bore his testimony.

Friends and family gathered at the McCoy home, joined with the Burton family, to say farewell to their missionaries. Food, fellowship, and fun was had by all.

At 845pm MST Cody was set apart as a missionary to serve in the Arizona Phoenix Mission by the Colorado Springs East Stake President, President Muirhead. A blessing was given and Cody became Elder Troxler for the next two years.

Elder Troxler, Mom, and CJ will drive to Pleasant Grove, UT to visit the Hasson Family. Cody reports to the MTC on 23 June at 130pm.
